This is my second pair of these shoes, previous one lasted about 2 years of hard use because they are just so comfortable and easy to put-on or slip on, can wear them with or without socks. Not sure about waterproofing but definitely got soaked in the rain and they dried out well and quick overnight. Great fit for people who have wide feet, as the top is mesh-like and has some elasticity so it will hug the foot well
